Ministerial nominee: FCT natives hail Tinubu over Jisalo

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) original inhabitants have praised President Bola Tinubu for selecting Zephaniah Jisalo as one of the ministerial nominees.

Briefing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, on behalf of other FCT youths, Bitrus Garki said the nomination of an indigene of the territory, will bridge the gap of representation at the federal level.

They said Tinubu’s action proves his love for Abuja people; and commitment to effective democracy.

Garki explained that the Jisalo nomination set a precedent for future administrations to follow and reinforce the principle of social justice for all Nigerians, irrespective of geographical location.

“We believe that the nomination of an FCT indigene as a member will not only pave way for increased representation at the federal level, but will also empower and inspire other indigenous people to participate actively in politics and leadership roles.

“The recognition will go along way to bring out talents, skills and potential of the original inhabitants; which the government can harness the collective strength of all its citizens to achieve greater heights of progress and prosperity”

The spokesperson explained that, “the president steps demonstrated his understanding of the importance of bridging the gap between the FCT and the rest of the country.

“We will continue to support the president’s vision for a better Nigeria and encourages other political leaders to emulate his approach to governance”

Garki noted that despite the celebration, more needed to be done in the Federal Capital Territory.

He also urged the government to find lasting solutions to issues such as infrastructure development, land rights, service delivery and the protection of the unique cultural heritage of the indigenous people.
