QNET targets 200m Nigerian population, justifies partnership with Transblue

From Cyriacus Nnaji, Lagos

QNET, a leading e-commerce based direct-selling company is poised to explore to the fullest the huge market opportunity offered by the Nigerian population which is estimated to be over 200 million people.

Biram Fall, Regional General Manager, QNET, Sub Saharan Africa made the disclosure at a Product Expo organized by the group on Saturday in Ikeja, Lagos State.

On the question if QNET has office in Nigeria, Mr Fall said: “We have partnered with Transblue which is a Nigerian company and in charge of logistics and dealing with marketing and other issues on the ground over here.

“We offer our opportunity on 100% ecommerce platform, we truly don’t need to be present everywhere in the world, but we have customers in 120 countries around the world and we have 25 offices scattered around the world.

“But for Nigeria we chose to enter into this strategic partnership, because it is a specific market; more than 200million people and we know the profile of Nigeria, they are go-getters, and we got the opportunities and run with them, and we thought it would be a good thing to reinforce our presence here,” Fall stated.

Mr Fall who said that the Expo was an opportunity to showcase the products of the company and business opportunities to the public, independent representatives and prospects, spoke on his expectation from the Nigerian market.

“We are here to stay and we hope to multiply our sales tenfold within the next three to four years, for sure, the potential is there and we will do our utmost to lay the foundation and see to it that everybody has a good understanding of what multilevel marketing is all about, what direct selling is all about specifically; we train and coach our independent representatives and we keep a close watch on those that we think that are likely to tarnish our image.”

On sustainability of the Expo in Nigeria, Mr Fall stated that QNET intends to make the Expo an annual event.

“That is what we are looking at, we wanna come back on a regular basis. This is the first trial and of course, we want to increase our sales and keep the momentum steady, this is one of the things we intend to do on yearly basis and many more things to come”, he said.

Laja Shoniran, Executive Director, Financial Literacy for All and also Managing Consultant, Infinite Intel Consult, a Human Capital Development Organisation speaking on his impression after being taken round the Exhibition hall said: “My assessment of the tour I had this morning, I must say that I was quite impressed.

“One, I am someone who is an advocate of wellness, wellness for everybody but particularly for retirees, so, I saw quite a number of products that I believe would be quite useful particularly for the older adults.

“And so for me it is a good thing happening this time, their products coming to Nigeria this period of time is a very welcome thing. Just two or three days ago it was hinted that 500 directors will be retired from the federal civil service, based on some criteria, and these are some of the things we need to sustain and to keep people feat because they still have a lot to offer .

“So my general impression basically is that this is a good thing happening to Nigeria, and the one that gladdens me the most is the educational part of it, the Q-learn, I am so excited about that, because one of the challenges that we have in this part of the world is that many times, we have the desire to start a business, we have the desire to do one thing or the other.

“But because we don’t have the requisite skills, we see that we start the business, no time the business fizzles out, but when you are taught properly, and that is why the QLearn aspect of it, like a whole package, we are talking about acquiring knowledge, knowledge really is power, and we are talking about wellness physically too.

“You see, whatever we are today is a function of what we eat, so everything we have eaten is what we are seeing, if we have eaten well, we see it, if we have done otherwise we also see it; and they have come with some products; they even come with toothpaste, which is also very good, because these days, the number of cancer cases increase so much, and some of these things are happening because of the things that we take for granted.

“You see fluoride is carsinogenic, we don’t know but that is what we have been told now, but that is what we do every day. So for a product like that coming into Nigeria, I believe that it is a good thing and I believe that Nigeria will do better,” Shoniran stated.
