FCTA pulls down shanties in Kabusa

The officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration on Monday pulled down shanties at 1st Kabusa junction inter-change, ring road two Southern part express way in Dutse district.

The Director FCT Department of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima who led the operation, told journalists that removal of the illegal structures would bring about sanity in the area.

He said the area was becoming an eye sore in the city as well as paving way for unhealthy environment.

According to him, the current minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike had directed that illegalities should not be allowed in territory, which he said all activities must confine to the best standards.

Galadima explained that in years to come, an over-head bridge will be constructed around the place.

“The removal of the shanties is in continuation of our commitment to keep sanity in the city and make the neighbourhood and environment healthy. Kabusa is an eye sore to the city starting from the junction.

“The place is an inter-section of ring road two and the outer southern part express way, it is a reservation for an inter-change with time there will be over head bridge that will connect ring road two and the outer southern way.

“We are starting from this point to Galadima roundabout, when we chase out the people we will come up with a plan that will accommodate all the traders, at least we will put them in an organised manner”

Galadima insisted that demolition of structures raised in areas without approval must go down for genuine infrastructure development.
