From Enyinna Omoke, Abakaliki

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has advocated the use of Igbo dialects in teaching children and wards in public and private schools in South-East Zone.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu on Tuesday, Governor Nwifuru said apart from helping the teachers to properly drive home the teaching process, the method would help save the dialects from going into extinction.

The governor who was addressing the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ebonyi State Chapter, led by Dr. Peter Mbam, charged the group to brace up in promotion of the cherished Igbo customs and traditions through their daily programmes and activities.

The Governor while assuring that his administration will continue to assist the organization where necessary appealed to them to continue to advise Ndigbo on the need to embrace peace at all times.
