Nigerians in diaspora back military’s renewed onslaught against insurgency

The renewed onslaught by the Nigerian military against insurgency and other forms of criminality has received the commendation of Nigerians in diaspora.

Our Correspondent reports that to further show their support, the diasporans said they are set for a conference to sensitise and rally more Nigerians within and outside the country to further support the Nigerian military’s fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country.

This was stated in a press statement signed by the President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK, Dr Mike Uyi on Saturday in London.

Uyi said the peace that Nigerians enjoy in many parts of the country would not have been possible without the successes recorded by the military against various terrorist groups, urging Nigerians to rally behind “our brave soldiers”

According to him, “We must stand behind our troops who continue to make sacrifices for the peace and stability of our country. We must not give in to those whose actions are inimical to peace and development,” he said.

While affirming that the nation stands united and hopeful that a brighter future lies ahead, even in the midst of challenging times, he expressed deep sorrow for the men of the military who have paid the supreme price in the line of duty.

Uyi explained that the conference would enable Nigerians see the need to continue in their patriotic support for the military.

He said the GPMI is set to deploy it’s officials to all the geo-political zones in Nigeria and begin Europe tour to galvanize support for the Nigerian military.

He also express satisfaction with the correct Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Gwabin Musa for his professional coordination of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
