Explosion victim gets free medical treatment from Prince Princewill

A victim of explosion, during the burial rites of the Amanyanabo of Kalabari Kingdom, King Theophilus JT Princewill, David Enefiok has been promised a free medical treatment by the son of the monarch, Prince Tonye Princewill.

The AUTHORITY gathered that Enefiok, sustained a severe injury on his right hand after he tried to get rid of a cannon shot that erroneously landed on a speed boat during the funeral rites of the late monarch at the Abonnema Wharf.

It was gathered that as a result of the incident, the victim’s right hand shift from his wrist below and was left shattered into pieces.

As a way of showing concern, Prince Tonye visited the victim at the Creek Hospital, by William Jumbo, Government Residential Area, Port Harcourt.

Speaking during the visit, the former gubernatorial candidate described the victim as a hero who averted what would have led to an even more terrible incident. 

“We are very proud of him, he was prepared to sacrifice himself to save many people and our job is to make sure that we make sacrifices to save him and do our bit to try to make sure that he can get back the use of his hand.”

He assured the victim that already three parties including Alhaji Asari Dokubo, the Health Subcommittee and himself have all offered to foot the medical bill. He also added that they will not abandon him.

In addition to help the victim, Tonye, put the Port Harcourt medical team in touch with American Hospital in Dubai who are currently in Nigeria as part of a joint venture agreement with RivExcel. 

Both medical teams have begun detailed discussion on how best to arrange for a possible prosthesis to augment the lost hand with an artificial one.
