Breaking: Gov Sani meets Finance Minister on poverty eradication, rural economies revival

The Minister of Finance, Wale Edun has expressed the commitment of the Federal Government to partner with the Kaduna State Government to address its key developmental and security challenges in the state.

The minister dropped the hint when Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani visited his office in Abuja to discuss some pertinent economic issues for the good of the state and its people.

Edun commiserated with the government and people of Kaduna State over the unfortunate Tudun Biri military drone attack and prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and speedy recovery for the injured.

Earlier speaking, Governor Sani said, “We shall work with the Honourable Minister as we ramp up the implementation of measures geared towards bringing succour to the distressed people of Tudun Biri Community.”

According to Uba Sani, the courtesy visit allowed me to rub minds with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Chief Wale Edun on how to build and strengthen partnerships between the Kaduna State government and the Ministry.

“We shared allowed him revitalising the Nigerian economy and collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and the Federal government to address the problem of out-of-school children, tackle poverty and unemployment, boost agriculture, revitalize the rural economies, and wage sustained battle against insecurity.

“Our discussions also touched on our government’s efforts in equipping Kaduna out-of-schools, especially youths with technical skills to make them employable through the establishment of three Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition Cities in Rigachikun, Samarun Kataf and Soba.

“Not left out, was the State Government’s aggressive investment drive which is already yielding dividends,” the governor said.

Governor Sani also disclosed that they were currently finalizing their agreement with the Kuwaiti Fund for a 28 Million Dollar Grant to address the problem of Out-Of-School Children in Kaduna State.

The governor thanked the Minister of Finance for his show of empathy and support towards the rebuilding of the Tudun Biri Community.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media, Nasir Dambatta, told newsmen in Abuja that Uba Sani is the first governor to strike such a deal on rural economies revival and poverty eradication with the Federal Ministry of Finance.
