Speaker Abbas hails Dangote on getting Senegal’s highest recognition

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on his conferment with Senegal’s highest national honour, the National Order of the Lion by President Macky Sall.

He noted that the Senegal’s highest national honour bestowed on Dangote was a testimony of his attributes as a worthy business ambassador of not just Nigeria but also the entire African continent.

According to a statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the speaker added that the recognition showed Senegal’s appreciation of the fact that Alhaji Aliko Dangote is not just a business mogul but an outstanding industrialist with a far-reaching impact both within and outside his country of origin, Nigeria.

In another development, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas has condoled Vice President Kashim Shettima over the death of his stepmother, Hajiya Hauwa Abba Kormi who passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 69. She left behind five children and several step-children and grandchildren.

The Speaker, in his condolence message to VP Shettima, described the death as a great loss, while urging the Vice President to find solace in the fact that Hajiya Kormi lived a life worthy of emulation.
