A civic organization fostering public accountability in Nigeria, Paradigm Leadership Support Initiative (PLSI) will this Thursday in Abuja host a Focused Group Discussion on “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Accountability in Nigeria”.
PLSI had in 2016 launched its civic technology product – “Value for Money” – in the effort to allow citizens to track, act and report on audited development projects in their communities to improve efficient use of public resources and delivery of services.
A press statement issued by PLSI’s media officer, Ifeoma Onuoha, explained that the discourse had become imperative given the increasing penetration of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) in the accountability landscape.
According to her, “PLSI is convening anti-corruption and accountability actors at national and subnational levels in Nigeria to a focused group discussion to consider the impact of and adaptation to the penetration of these technology tools.
“Also, we will unveil to stakeholders Value for Money 3.0 with AI-enabled features to effectively democratize citizens’ participation and involvement in the anti-corruption and accountability efforts at all levels of government in Nigeria.”
