The National President, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has been a game changer for local communities in the country.
He stated this in a statement while congratulating Bola Tinubu on his one year in office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
While applauding the president’s friendly disposition and his determination to ensure the speedy growth of local governments in Nigeria, the ALGON President said: “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with Mr. President, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering local governments and enhancing grassroots development.
“His leadership has been a game-changer for our communities, and we are eager to see the continued impact of his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Maifata further commended President Tinubu’s efforts to address constitutional challenges affecting local government administration in Nigeria.
“We believe that the President’s commitment to resolving these challenges will have a profound impact on the lives of Nigerians and the development of our nation as a whole,” the ALGON President stressed.
He noted that ALGON is excited over the many achievements recorded by the Tinubu’s administration in a space of one year, vowing that his group will continue to support the administration for speedy development of the country.
Maifata said that ALGON is not surprise with the relentless effort of the President to restore the lost glory of the local governments administration because, according to him, Tinubu’s support for local government development dates back to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
“The President’s understanding of the importance of local government in driving national progress is unparalleled, and we are grateful for his unwavering support..
“We stand ready to work with the President and his team to ensure that local governments continue to thrive and play their critical role in building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria,” the ALGON President further said.
