The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, on Sunday urged civil servants across the country to embrace continuous learning and skills development for efficiency in service delivery to Nigerians.
Yemi-Esan who expressed gratitude to God for His help for the civil service, stated this at the Thanksgiving Service to round-off activities for the 2024 Civil Service Week celebrations in Abuja.
The 2024 edition has the theme; “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Life-long, Quality and Relevant Learning in Africa.”
“We cannot stop training ourselves. Learning is key for us to attain the positions that God has given us.
“For us to meet the expectations of Nigerians, we must retool ourselves with the requisite skills. We can only do this by continuous learning and training,” she said while speaking to journalists shortly after the service.
She specifically thanked God for His tremendous assistance to the Nigerian Civil Service in the implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan(FCSSIP25).
According to her, there has been transformation in the ways civil servants carry out their duties, following the implementation of FCSSIP 25).
The Senior Pastor of Exousia Church of God, Pastor Kunle Shoyele, stressed the need for workers to develop their skills, adding that “Everybody must go back to skills learning such as skills in leadership, management and accountability.”
“Anywhere people pay attention to learning, there will be learning culture. There will be development, improvement and stability.”
