Christ Royal Family International Churches set for iconic programme, ‘It is War’

…As Tom Samson urges Nigerians to pray for their leaders

By Cyriacus Nnaji

Recently a Church leader, Bishop Tom Samson of Christ Royal Family International Churches, urged Nigerians to keep praying for their leaders to succeed, and that the country shall overcome most of the challenges it is going through.

He explained that, because Nigeria is a country that prays a lot, that is why God has been averting evil from happening in the country, saying some countries did not undergo half of what Nigeria went through before war broke out.

Bishop Samson said many of the leaders meant well for the people but there are some evil forces that derail the good plans they have.

Speaking on a crusade that he will hold at his church premises between 4th of August and 10th August, 2024 at No 2, Agbegbola Tom Samson Street, Off Obafemi Awolowo Road, Ikeja with the theme “it is war” Bishop Samson said many did not understand why the theme of his crusade have always been titled “It is war”.

He said he chose to dwel on that theme because there are many spiritual wars many are encountering that have prevented them from achieving their goals in life.

He said many did not succeed because of the environment where they operate, saying some environment are jinxed and unless those stronghold that stand against the people are pulled down, success cannot be recorded.

“There are forces of darkness affecting families today, you see baby mama everywhere, marriage has been ridiculed, things have lost their values, unrighteousness is the order of the day, fear of God is gone but we will continue to make sure the kingdom of God is established, so it is war.

“Our nation too trust in God, if you say God has not done well in this country, it would have been worst.

“It could have been worst, it could have been terrible, the nation is not divided, that we do not shed blood it is because of prayers.

“There are some nations that, what they went through is not up to what we are going through in Nigeria, they are in terrible situation Russian and Ukraine is in terrible situation, what they thought would be over within six or three months is still on.

“Israel and Palestine what they thought would be over soon has not ended, only God knows the end.

“But God has helped us in Nigeria, hunger we will overcome it, because as long as there is no war in Nigeria, that God will keep the arm of evil away things will go well.”

He explained that, one of the challenges we are having in this country is that the wrong people found themselves in power, “Check the background of the people we have today at the top, check their background, some of them are leaders in various cult group, when they were in the university.
What can they offer? If such people become a president of a nation, you can imagine what will happen.

“The Bible says when the righteous is on the throne the people will be happy, so whether we like it or not righteousness must reign.

“We are having problems in the society today when parents don’t know God, how will they lead their children to God.” He said.

Bishop Samson however, urged the organised labour to be ready to compromise in their demands for a new minimum wage, saying, if there should be increment in wages it should be done gradually.

“Like organised Labour is asking for N250,000 as minimum wage, I don’t know any government that can pay that as at now, I don’t know why it cannot cause war.
“If the minimum wage is N50,000 before,
we can shift it a bit, we should continue increasing the minimum wage gradually, but if labour insists it must be that amount they mentioned, then we are calling for war.

“When we say it is war, no be say we dey fight but we are saying the truth.”

When asked about preparation for the crusade, he said it is not him that will perform wonders and miracle at the crusade but it is the holy spirit.

On Nation wide protest proposed by the youths fixed for August 1, he said ”the fact remains that, I will cite example of Kenya, when there was increase in taxation, and the president decided to slash the tax.
“I believe our president would be a listening president, and he has been a man keen about democratic rule, and what is democracy, government of the people for the people by the people. I will plead with the government, they should listen to the demands of the people.” The Bishop said.

He noted that as things are now, in the country, inflation rate is very high. ”I want to use this opportunity to plead, whatever we can do to alleviate the suffering of the masses let government do it.
“We pastors know what the masses are going through, many of them come to us, at times to complain they have not eaten.” He explained.
