Service delivery: HoSF seeks synergy between aides, civil servants

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, on Tuesday expressed committed to ensuring that the required synergy and harmonious working relationship exists between the Office of the Ministers, who are the representatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Civil Servants with a view to enhancing effective service delivery and socio-economic developmental goals in the overall interest of the nation.

She made this during a One-Day Sensitisation Workshop for Senior Ministerial Aides held in Abuja.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary for Service Policy and Strategies Office (SPSO), Dr. Deborah Odoh, the HoSF stated that the sensitisation workshop was necessary in order to ensure the full implementation of Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the nation.

“As we all know, our country is at a critical point in its journey towards national development, and it is our responsibility to support our principles to ensure that the much-needed policies and programs are effectively and efficiently implemented in order to secure the future we desire of a Nigeria that is able to maximize its full economic and developmental potential.

“This sensitization workshop has therefore been designed to further build our capacity to support the achievement of each ministry’s mandates, strategic objectives, and targets in line with Mr. President’s renewed hope agenda,” she stated.

Dr. Yemi-Esan further stated that the sensitization workshop has therefore been designed to further build up capacity to support the achievements of each Ministry’s mandate, strategic objectives and targets.

Dr. Yemi-Esan added that in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the key areas is expected to be covered by a very experienced and carefully chosen resource persons includes; the revised public service rules, financial regulations, Public Procurement Act, Ethical Codes of Conduct and the Public Service, Administrative Procedure, and Management Reforms.

She expressed hope that the workshop will equip participants with the necessary information that will guide their day-to-day activities and facilitate a smooth working relationship between ministerial aides and the civil servants.

” The overall goal of this sensitization workshop is to promote synergy and improve harmony in the workplace for maximum productivity and impact. We expect robust and healthy discussions during the course of this workshop that will enable civil servants appreciate better the role played by the ministerial aides and also enable the aides understand the tremendous support and commitment provided by civil servants.

“There is no doubt that together we can meet and surpass the expectations of the millions of Nigerians who look to us for a better life,” the HoSF stated.

In her Welcome Address, the Director, Organisation and Development (ODD), in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Mimi Abu, stated that the overall goal of the sensitisation workshop is to promote synergy and provide improved harmony in the workplace for maximum productivity in the Service.

She called for collaborative efforts in ensuring stakeholders adherence to the guiding principles for effective service delivery.
Some of the participants in separate interviews commended the HoSF for organising the workshop which they agreed will further improve their understanding of their assignments towards quality service delivery.
