Prof Ujah bags the traditional title of Ogwu’ Agba K’Idoma.

— Promises to advance Idoma course and humanity

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Professor Innocent Ujah, OON, has been given the traditional title of Ogwu’ Agba K’Idoma by the paramount ruler of Idoma Kingdom, Och’Idoma – Dr. John Elaigwu, CON.

Performing the investiture on the revered Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Palace of the Idoma Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty stated that the OGWU’ AGBA K’IDOMA which connotes the “POWERFUL MAN” conferred on Professor Ujah was unanimously agreed by his Council of Chiefs, adding that it was based on merit.

His royal majesty who is the Chancellor of the Federal University, Atuoke, Bayelsa State, averred that the landmark achievements in the first Federal Government owned Federal University of Health Sciences in Nigeria, located in Idoma land and his tall track sound record in the medical profession speak volume.

Speaking further, the royal majesty who congratulated Prof Innocent Ujah on the confirmation of the Idoma traditional Area Council, prayed for peace in Idoma nation, Benue State and Nigeria pointing out that no society can develop without peace.

Responding on behalf of himself and his family, Prof Innocent Ujah said the confermation of of the chieftaincy title on him by the Idoma traditional Area Council was a call to higher service to the society and humanity.

“Sincerely, your Royal Majesty, I was keenly doing my job with the fear of God but I never knew that you and your Council of Chiefs were talking record of me”

Prof Innocent Ujah who is the Pioneer Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, while appreciating his royal majesty the Och’ Idoma and the entire Idoma Traditional Area Council, promised to a be good ambassador of Idoma nation and the Idoma Traditional Area Council.

The brief and historical event at the Och’ Idoma Palace attracted personalities across the country including the entire management staff of Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, leadership of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Katsina-Ala Old Students Association, University dons, Christian and Moslem leaders, Traditional leaders and Representatives of various Communities.
