Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has reassured farmers in the country that the administration of President Bola Tinubu, is committed to ending the current hardship being experienced by Nigerians and Nigerian farmers, according to the Senior Assistant, Media to the senate president, Jackson Udom.
Speaking through his wife, Mrs Unoma Akpabio, during the distribution of fertilizers to female farmers in Akwa Ibom State, he urged farmers to keep their trust with President Tinubu, noting that the President will ensure that there is food for all Nigerians.
Speaking further, Mrs Akpabio said: “I am here on behalf of the President of the Senate to flag off the fertiliser distribution that would boost the yield in the farming season and bring assurance of food security to all and sundry. In this senatorial district where our President of the Senate comes from, we are starting with the female farmers – people should not worry- more fertilizers would be sent from the Ministry of Agriculture for further distribution to all farmers.”
While calling on farmers to be patient with Mr President and gave assurances that very soon, things will ease up, she said: “I want to use this opportunity to appeal to our women and youth to be patient and not allow anyone or any group to confuse us – we have a President who is experienced, knowledgeable, tenacious, compassionate and visionary.
“He is determined to turn things around for Nigerians. The Renewed Hope Agenda is already at our doorsteps.Apart from the state of emergency declared on food security, students can now collect loans to go to school. All they need to do is to apply. Most of you don’t know this. The minimum wage bill has been passed and signed. That means more money for our civil servants.” She therefore informed that she was also a farmer and was looking forward to the planting season whilst wishing for the best for the farmers.
