Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for its efforts in promoting unity among political actors in the state, breaking away from the traditional divisive politics.
Governor Ododo made these remarks while receiving IPAC members, led by Chairman Honourable Ilyas Badanga, during their courtesy visit to the Government House in Lokoja.
In a statement signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with IPAC to provide purposeful leadership that will shape government policies and programs in the interest of the people.
The Governor emphasized the need to leave behind the era of negative political campaigning and urged political actors to provide constructive criticism and offer superior policy options that will positively impact the lives of the citizens.
“As politicians, it is time to unite and rebrand the entire state by adopting strategies that will lead to its development, as demonstrated by the leadership of IPAC, which has put forward ideas promoting inclusive politics for the peace and unity of Kogi State,” Governor Ododo stated.
IPAC Chairman Honourable Ilyas Badanga expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for his compassionate leadership and open-door policy, which he said has fostered a cordial working relationship with key political figures, thereby promoting good governance in the state.
Badanga assured that IPAC is ready for continued collaboration with the government to ensure a free and fair outcome in the forthcoming local government elections in the state. He also praised the Governor for his sustained efforts in infrastructural development and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries.
Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Governor, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, commended IPAC members for their unity and support of the current administration through their visit. He assured that Governor Ododo’s administration will prioritize the wellbeing of the people and work to unite them, regardless of their political affiliations.
