Hon. Akinlayo Kolawole, the representative of Ido/Osi/Moba/Ilejemeje Federal Constituency in Ekiti State, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the President Bola Tinubu-led administration. Speaking amidst nationwide protests triggered by economic hardship, Kolawole expressed confidence in the government’s ability to steer the country towards prosperity.
While acknowledging the constitutional right to protest, Kolawole encouraged citizens to embrace dialogue as a means of addressing their concerns. He noted that the current administration inherited a flawed system, which it is working diligently to address.
Kolawole appealed to Nigerians to give the government time to repair the inherited structural defects, emphasizing that President Tinubu is confronting challenges head-on for the benefit of the citizens. He promised that the government would take necessary actions and urged the youth to consider the president’s offer of dialogue.
Kolawole stressed that dialogue is more effective than protest, citing examples of prolonged conflicts in Iran, Russia, and Ukraine. He advised the youth to table their demands before the government, which would respond promptly to feasible requests and provide timelines for others.
In summary, Kolawole called for patience, dialogue, and cooperation, assuring that the government would take necessary actions to address the concerns of Nigerians.
