Tinubu summons security chiefs as hunger protest enters Day 5

President Bola Tinubu on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, met behind closed doors with the heads of security and paramilitary agencies.

The meeting was convened under the auspices of the National Security Council.

Leading the security chiefs was  General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, as he was accompanied by the service chiefs and other top military and paramilitary officials.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun are also in attendance.

This meeting held on Day 5  of the widespread protests across the nation planned for 10 days, and driven by concerns over hunger and poor governance.

The security meeting followed shortly after that of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) was abruptly called off, with no reasons advanced to the press.
