The Ohinoyi of Ebira land, HRM, Alhaji (Dr. ) Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje has applauded the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, for his all-inclusive and innovative approach to leadership.
The Monarch who made the commendation while receiving the Rector and other Principal Officers of the Polytechnic in his palace on a courtesy visit over the weekend said such all- inclusive leadership has led to the unprecedented transformation of the institution.
He stressed that the Prof. Usman’s re-appointment was well deserved, considering his outstanding achievements and distinguished track records over the past 4 years.
The Ohinoyi assured the Rector and other principal officers of the institution of his continued support, particularly in addressing land encroachment and security issues at the Itakpe Campus, and emphasised his commitment to fairness, justice and equal treatment for all, regardless of tribal or religious affiliations.
He also applauded the Rector for his trailblazing initiative in establishing the School of Agricultural Technology, a pioneering move that holds immense promise in addressing the perennial issue of food insecurity in Nigeria.
Such establishment he said would enhance food production and also create a plethora of employment opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to the nation’s socio-economic development.
The Royal Father commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the achievements recorded within a short period which have surpassed citizens expectations, particularly in the areas of peace and tranquility as evident in the last nationwide protest that was not experienced in Kogi State.
Earlier, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman appreciated the royal father for his warm reception and congratulated him profoundly on his ascension to the throne of his forebears.
Professor Usman disclosed some achievements accomplished under his visionary leadership, including, rehabilitation of students hostels; Securing 100% accreditation for over 30 programmes previously unaccredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Others are the cash backing of staff promotion; creation of employment opportunities; successful holding of the institution’s convocation after almost a decade and above all bridging ethnic divides amongst staff and students thereby fostering a harmonious and inclusive academic community.
He appealed to the Royal father to express his profound appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continuous supports to the Polytechnic, particularly his approval of the ongoing fencing project at the Itakpe Campus.
The Rector pointed out that such fencing project would enhance the campus security, prevent encroachment and provide a safer learning environment for students.
He assured the royal father that the management team would continue to strive for greatness, fueled by a relentless passion for excellence and dedication to making the people of Kogi State proud while propelling the institution to new and greater heights.
