YPP, 14 others back Gov Soludo on LGA polls

The Anambra State Chapter of Young Progressives Party (YPP) and fourteen other political parties have expressed their support to Prof Charles Soludo in the September 28th LGA election.

In an interview after the meeting of the states chairmen on Saturday, Hon Prince Obi, the state chairman of YPP said that his party is ready to contest and win in the September 28th LGA polls.

He pointed out that the sales of expression of interest and nomination forms is ongoing at the party office in Awka.

Hon Obi said that there is no need to boycott the so much expected election when the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) is demonstrating willingness to engage all the political parties.

The çhairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP) Comrade Mattais Ameke in a separate interview said that his party couldn’t have oppose the conduct of local government elections in Anambra State after waiting for so many years for it.

He said further that the National body of Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) cannot dictate to the political parties at the state level to boycott an election.

On his part, Prince Bartholomew Igwedibia of Accord Party said that the September 28th LGA polls in Anambra State is sacrosanct.

He said as a matter of fact that the Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo is trying and all patroitic stakeholder has a duty of supporting the governor to continue his good works.

The Anambra State Çhairman of IPAC who is also the state chairman of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) noted that the political parties in their meeting resolved not to truncate the deepening of democracy at local government areas by boycotting the LGA polls.

He said that his party is fully prepared to participate actively in the September 28th LGA polls, noting that interested party faithful have started obtaining forms for the election at the party Secretariat.

The state chairmen of Action Alliance (AA) Allied People’s Movement (APM), ADC , AAC, NRMP, APP, PRP, SDP and other parties in attendance affirmed their readiness for the local government areas election.

Some of the chairmen of some political parties who could not make it to the meeting sent representatives who also confirmed their readiness for the September 28th polls.
