Dangote, Bill Gates attend NEC meeting in Aso Rock chaired by Shettima

Chairman of Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote and co-founder of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, were unusual attendees at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The NEC is the constitutional economic advisory body to the Federal Government, chaired by the Vice-President and comprising of State Governors, Central Bank Governor, Finance Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation.

Also present at Wednesday’s meeting were Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Lawan Dauda (Zamfara State), among others.

Also in the closed door meeting were deputy governors representing their principals, some Ministers as well as some states commissioners.

Dangote and Gates were expected to make presentations to the NEC.
