Anambra APC chairmanship aspirant mourns Niger inferno victims

Anambra state APC Chairmanship aspirant and leader of team Nwawelugo Movement, Chief Ikechukwu C Anonye, has commiserated with the people of Katcha local government over the petrol tanker inferno which claimed over 59 lives on Sunday.

In a statement he made available to newsmen, he expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident and called on the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to protect lives and properties at all times.

He also urged all citizens to recognize the sanctity of lives and always work towards ensuring the safety and well being of all.

The statement read in parts:
“I’m deeply saddened by the devastating fire incident in agie Niger State on 8th September 2024 which claimed the lives of over 50 people burnt beyond recognition and many others with several degrees of injuries and over 50 cows dead .

“My heart goes out to the families,loved ones and government of Niger state.

“As I mourn the dead, I call on the relevant authorities to take immediate measures to protect lives and properties at all times. It is our collective responsibility to prioritize safety and prevent such tragedies from occurring.

“I also urge citizens to recognize the value and sanctity of human life and to always work towards ensuring the safety and well-being of all. Let us learn from this tragic incident and strive to create a safer and more compassionate society.

“May the souls of the departed rest in peace’. He concludes.
