Gov Ododo pledges support for Lokoja GSM Village fire victims, assures swift rebuilding efforts

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the rebuilding of the GSM Village at Kpata, Lokoja, following a devastating fire incident on Thursday.

The governor assured that efforts would be made to restore the livelihoods of those affected by the disaster.

During an on-the-spot assessment of the damage, Governor Ododo expressed his sympathy for the victims and described the fire outbreak as a “deeply troubling development.”

He promised that the state government would step in to provide immediate relief and ensure that the affected business owners and individuals quickly recover from the setback.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of the GSM Village, noting that it has provided a legitimate means of livelihood for many youths and women while also contributing significantly to the state’s economy.

Governor Ododo assured the affected traders that reconstruction efforts would commence promptly, with plans already in place to rebuild damaged structures and restore the market to full operation.
