The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has encouraged women across Nigeria to take full advantage of available opportunities to enhance their lives.
Mrs. Ododo made this appeal during the distribution of sewing and grinding machines to over 100 beneficiaries through the Ododo Cares Empowerment Programme, organized by the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, at the Government House in Lokoja.
She noted that the initiative aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises across the state. Mrs. Ododo emphasized the importance of utilizing the distributed equipment to improve the beneficiaries’ livelihoods, urging them to use the items for family support while warning against selling them.
Reaffirming Governor Usman Ododo’s commitment to creating an environment that encourages wealth generation for all citizens, the First Lady highlighted the state government’s ongoing efforts to empower women and the general populace, with a focus on alleviating poverty.
Mrs. Ododo also expressed her gratitude to the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Fatima Momoh, for her dedication and consistent efforts in supporting women across the state through the ministry’s initiatives.
