Major Nigerian airline operators, Air Peace and Azman Air, have hailed the Federal Government’s efforts towards ease of doing business in the country, especially in aviation, and expressed hope to receive more of such support.
Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema and Founder of Azman Air, Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, bared their minds shortly after meeting with Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters on behalf of the duo, whose airlines are both marking their 10th anniversary this year, Onyeama said despite the challenges faced by operators since Covid pandemic, the Nigerian government has been giving them a listening ear, and that current Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has been doing a wonderful job.
According to the Air Peace boss: “Aviation all over the world has been a turbulent arena since after the COVID because of the supply chain issues. This is not peculiar to Nigeria but the Nigerian government is listening to us and making sure the ease of doing business in the sector is back.
“I have just had a session with the Vice President and everything he said is that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business.
“I can testify that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business especially in aviation. You can see the wonderful job Festus Keyamo is doing in that end. He is performing wonders there so we are happy.
“We are here to also thank the government because they have been giving us listening ears and we want more of that, to make sure all those numerous charges we face are removed and we have every confidence that the government will do something about it.”
