The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom on his appointment as the Minister of Youth Development.
Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, NYCN President in a statement on Thursday said that the appointment presents an exceptional opportunity for Hon. Wisdom to effect meaningful change and drive youth empowerment initiatives across the nation.
“We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for recognizing the immense potential of Hon. Wisdom and for appointing a leader whose commitment to youth development is both profound and unwavering. This appointment is a testament to the President’s dedication to uplifting the youth demographic in Nigeria and addressing the pressing challenges we face today.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, we urge Hon. Wisdom to approach his new role with the same vigor and dedication that has characterized his career thus far. The youth of Nigeria are eager for transformative policies that prioritize skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and empowerment.
“We are confident that your visionary leadership will spearhead initiatives that not only address the immediate needs of our young population but also lay a strong foundation for sustainable development” Sukubo said.
The NYCN President said that the challenges confronting Nigerian youth are multifaceted and require a robust response.
“High unemployment rates, inadequate access to quality education, and limited opportunities for skill development are just a few of the obstacles that need urgent attention”.
He called on Hon. Wisdom to prioritize these issues and work tirelessly to create programs that enhance vocational training, promote entrepreneurship, and provide youths with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
He additionally urge him to foster collaborations with private sector stakeholders, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
“Such partnerships will amplify the reach and effectiveness of youth-focused programs, ensuring that no young person is left behind in the quest for development and opportunity.
“Furthermore, the NYCN stands ready to support Hon. Wisdom in his endeavors. Our network is vast, and our commitment to empowering youth across Nigeria is resolute. We encourage all Nigerian youths to rally behind the newly appointed Minister, the Federal Government, and all leaders in positions of power.
