The Tinubu Arewa Media 2023 group, led by Comrade Abdulhamid Bala, has strongly condemned recent allegations made against Defence Minister Muhammadu Badaru, labeling them as baseless accusations from certain “meddlesome individuals.”
As a key supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the group dismissed the allegations as unfounded, calling the media attack on the Minister “totally unacceptable.”
In a brief statement issued Tuesday, the group declared, “These shameless falsehoods, accusing Minister Badaru of an imaginary shadow romance with PDP figures, are nothing but lies from the pit of hell, concocted by those desperate to destabilize the APC and disrupt the unity we have worked hard to build.”
Comrade Bala condemned the claims as part of a deliberate and malicious campaign to tarnish the Minister’s reputation, describing it as a “campaign of calumny.”
“These detractors are attempting to weaken our party’s stronghold by tarnishing the image of a man who has devoted himself to the APC and to our nation’s progress,” Bala said.
He further described the accusations linking Minister Badaru to opposition plots as “absurd” and devoid of truth, attributing the rumors to individuals he referred to as “enemies of progress.”
The group emphasized that Minister Badaru’s commitment to the APC, both as a former governor and now as Defence Minister, remains unquestionable. It added that Badaru’s leadership reflects the values of the APC and has consistently advanced the interests of Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
The group urged all APC supporters and President Tinubu to disregard these “pathetic, unfounded rumors” designed to distract the party from its objectives.
“These smear campaigns are orchestrated by agents of division and deceit,” Bala continued, emphasizing that those attempting to sow discord will find no support within the APC. He called Minister Badaru an honorable figure embodying loyalty, courage, and competence.
The group reaffirmed its support for Minister Badaru and condemned the “reckless tactics” of those trying to undermine his legacy and dedication.
“We remain united against these disgraceful, fabricated attacks, which only highlight the desperation of those who fear the strength and resilience of the APC in Jigawa State and beyond. No level of slander will distract us from supporting our leaders and pursuing our mission for a stronger, united Nigeria,” the group emphasized.
The group also revealed its knowledge of the politician allegedly behind the smear campaign against Minister Badaru.
“This same politician, notorious for his intolerance, previously resorted to similar tactics in dealings with a mining business partner. We therefore issue our final warning: if this individual dares to target Minister Badaru with such deceitful antics again, the group will not hesitate to expose his full identity to the public, through the media,” it stated.
