Kogi gov, Ododo, congratulates Aiyedatiwa on Ondo governorship election victory

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended his congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his triumph in the Ondo State Governorship election held on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ododo, who played a significant role as the deputy chairman of the Election Management and Strategy Committee for the APC’s Ondo Governorship Campaign Council, described Aiyedatiwa’s victory as a testament to the party’s strategic planning and dedication.

Governor Ododo, who was stationed in Owo to oversee election operations in the Ondo North Senatorial District, expressed confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ability to sustain the development strides that have become synonymous with APC leadership in Ondo State.

According to him: “We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo state.

“We have no doubt that he will build on existing infrastructure development, social welfare and security of lives and property across the state.

“We are confident that he will succeed with this new mandate which is a further boost to the popularity and acceptance of the APC in Ondo state.”

Governor Ododo also commended the peaceful conduct of the electorate, particularly the non-indigenous communities, during the election process. He assured them that their contributions have been noted and would be duly acknowledged by the government.

He urged the people of Ondo State to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa as he prepares to officially commence his tenure in February 2025.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared winner of the November 16, 2024, election, securing 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival, Honourable Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.
