NOUN VC receives Biotechnology Society of Nigeria’s award for outstanding leadership

The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Olufemi Peters, has been honoured by the Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN) for his remarkable leadership and significant contributions to the growth of biotechnology education, research, and innovation in the country.

The award, presented in Abuja on Monday, emphasized the transformative impact of Prof. Peters’ leadership at NOUN. The BSN stated: “Under Prof. Peters’ guidance, NOUN has played a pivotal role in fostering scientific progress and promoting the development of biotechnology in Nigeria.

“His unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the nurturing of future scientists has made a profound impact on the sector.”

In a statement issued by NOUN’s Director of Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Sheme, the society also congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on “this well-deserved honour” and expressed gratitude for his dedication to advancing the future of biotechnology in Africa.
