Residents of the Ministerial Highrise buildings at Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, have commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike for completing the resurfacing of their residential quarters.
A Lebanese contracting firm was awarded the contract, and during the take off of the project, the residents raised the alarm over suspected shoddy job by the contractor.
However, after a lull of about five days, the contractor brought in expected earth moving equipment and asphalt spreading caterpillars with which a presumed good engineering works were carried out with all the gutters opened for evacuation of flood and waste water.
Some of the residents who spoke with The AUTHORITY expressed joy that the Minister extended his resurfacing of parts of FCT to the area.
They expressed the hope that the supervisors for the engineering works did a good job according to specifications in the design, which they noted they are not in a position to determine, not being engineering experts.
