ADC cautions Bolaji over alleged unauthorized use of party name

The Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Nafi’u Bala Gombe-led African Democratic Congress (ADC) have cautioned Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi against issuing press statements or making public comments on behalf of the party.

The party leadership stated that any continued unauthorised use of the party’s name and logo would lead to legal action.

In a statement jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, and the BoT Secretary, Rufus Ikanmi, the leadership advised that if Abdullahi intends to join the ADC, he should follow the stipulated membership process by registering in his political ward in Kwara State.

The statement further warned that any transactions involving the party’s accounts by individuals not authorised to do so — including lending, withdrawals, or transfers — would be treated as financial misconduct and economic sabotage.

According to the BoT and NWC, the party is determined to safeguard its identity and institutional interests and would pursue legal remedies should Abdullahi continue with the alleged actions.

According to the statement: “The African Democratic Congress remains a party for all Nigerians, and membership is open to everyone through the established registration process.

“The Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a formal notice to all Deposit Money Banks and other financial institutions in Nigeria.

“Instructing them to cease all transactions and activities related to party’s accounts with members of the coalition purporting to act on behalf of the ADC.

“Any further dealings, including lending, withdrawal, or transfer of funds from the party’s accounts, will be considered financial crimes and economic sabotage. Such actions will be prosecuted to the full extent of financial regulations and relevant criminal laws.”
