We provide WHO standard portable water, have over 3,000 members, Says Sec, Nigeria Hydrologists

National association of Nigeria Hydrologist, says, it has recorded a big achievement under the leadership of Alh . Moi – Sule Abubakar in recent years as the national secretary .

In an interview with The Authority correspondent in Yobe State , the association said it has sponsored 40-60 person to participate at national conference of the union , which has given Yobe it’s image in terms of publicity .

“This is basically a key achievement and national recognition with a lot of members including those that finished their schools were enrolled as members to carry the association to greater heights” .

The national secretary opined that members don’t pay their dues as at when due which led to a big hitch in running the affairs of the association ” he said .

” We have over 3,000 registered members who are paying 10,000 naira annually which we are using in funding the organization .

” Dues paid regularly is our source of income in maintaining the association but unfortunately members don’t pay their dues timely .

Shedding more light on water, the national secretary, Alh . Moi -Sule stressed that the association has provided portable drinking water that meet the standard of world health organization ( WHO) in various communities in Nigeria .

He said that as the technical director of RUWASA , a lot of hitches faced by the association were rectified with the support of His Excellency Hon . Mai – Mala Buni .

The governor he said , has given approval for conversion of over 170 boreholes recently and before then , he has released funds to convert boreholes construction to ease water shortages in the communities across Yobe State .

The secretary stressed that he has been receiving cooperation from the state government and staff of the organization.
