There is tension in the fold of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Anambra State led by Comrade Chidi Chidebe over the weekend following plans for some of it’s members to decamp to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Though, PDP through it’s State Publicity Secretary, Dr Obum Nnoli refuted the claims in the APGA fold about it’s members decamping to support the Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, there affirmations to the.rumour.
According to Odenigbo Political Vanguard led by Sir Chukwuma Umeagbala, the PDP members at the grassroots are ready to move to APGA in solidarity to Governor Soludo’s second term agenda.
Meanwhile, some politicians who cleaned to be members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), under the name Odenigbo Political Vanguard, over the weekend planned what they described as mother of all Political switch over in the state.
At a meeting at the New Orleans Hotel, Udoka, Awka, the convener of the group, Sir Chukwuma Umeagbala, confirmed their preparation for their endorsement rally for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
Umeagbala vowed that their group would never tolerate double-dealing or anti-party activities, hence the switch was heir collective conviction that Governor Charles Soludo has achieved in two years and 9 months, what all his predecessors could not accomplish in their respective eight years of tenure, even without borrowing.
Another leader of the group, Chief Oforka Uchenu, from Anaku in Ayamelum Local Government, confessed that they are tired of playing opposition politics and would now like to join the mainstream as well as support the good works of Soludo’s APGA-led government in the state.
Also, a woman leader, Iyom Ifeoma Anyaka said she was inspired to join Odenigbo Political Vanguard sequel to the remarkable works of Governor Soludo particularly in Onitsha, Okpoko, and, Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, and the SPAD on Political Matters to the Governor, Dr Alex Obiogbolu who witnessed the preparation meeting thanked the group and assured them of ample space in APGA to accommodate them even as they were educated on the agenda of the Governor in the state.
