Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) initiative to drive agricultural development and economic growth in Kaduna State.
Speaking to journalists at the just-concluded Africa Investment Forum # AIF2024 in Morocco, the governor described the program as a transformative effort that will significantly benefit the people of Kaduna State.
“The SAPZ is one of the most important programs that will enhance our agriculture, create jobs, and support the entire agricultural value chain. Agriculture contributes about 42.8% of Kaduna State’s GDP, making it a key focus area for us,” Governor Sani stated.
Highlighting Kaduna’s leadership in the production of maize, soybeans, tomatoes, and ginger, the governor emphasized the state’s readiness to partner with investors to fully develop the SAPZ. “We have many up-takers, and we are engaging with partners who are eager to invest in Kaduna’s agricultural sector. This initiative will create economic prosperity, support smallholder farmers, and generate wealth and opportunities for our people,” he said.
Governor Sani assured potential investors of a favorable business environment in Kaduna State. “We made it clear to investors that Kaduna is a willing partner. They can come and invest with confidence,” he added.
The SAPZ initiative is expected to bolster Kaduna State’s agricultural value chain, solidify its position as an agricultural hub, and contribute significantly to job creation and wealth generation.
