Why I engaged the hunters to guard Taraba Poly -Rector

The acting Rector of Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai, Dr. Amos Agbu has stated that the decision to engage the services of over 20 hunters to the institution was to boost internal security outfit from suspected miscreants.

Dr. Agbu who revealed this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Jalingo on Tuesday, said the measure was aimed at securing properties of the institution from being vandalized.

He further disclosed that engagement of hunters was to replace the outgone staff who were either retired, suspended, old age and by natural death in the period under review.

According to Dr. Agbu, the temporary measures in place will go a long way to protect the school properties pending state government official approval to engage the services of security personnel.

The rector also warns students against acts capable of denting their images as anyone caught will be summarily dismissed.

On efforts of the state governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to the institution, the Poly helmsman gave Kudos to the chief executive of the state, noting that major obstacles facing the institution have gradually paving way and expressed gratitude to the governor for coming to their rescue and assured not to leave any stone unturned until the dream of the present state government’s good intention comes to bear.

On remaining accreditation courses by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the rector gave assurance that the board will do the needful as the institution is working round the clock to ensure all requirements are completed before the next visit on the date yet to be fixed by year 2025.

On the forthcoming Yutide festivity, Dr. Amos Agbu cautioned staff and students against embarking on an unholy trip and urged for continuous prayers for governor Kefas administration, peace and development of the state.
