Mouka wins Most Outstanding Foam Company in women empowerment

From Anthony Nwachukwu, Lagos

In recognition of its innovations and impact in promoting women empowerment, Nigeria’s sleep products manufacturer, Mouka Limited, has been awarded the Most Outstanding Foam Company in Women Empowerment.

At the awards, which held recently in Lagos, the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA) said it considered commitment to supporting women’s well-being, inclusive community programmes and overall contributions to advancing women empowerment in the foam industry, among others, as basis for picking the company.

Some of Mouka’s initiatives towards women empowerment include the Mum in Business, in which the company teams up with Nigeria’s first Fintech company for women, Herconomy, to provide female entrepreneurs and professionals with financial services, capacity building and opportunities.

The initiative provides cash grants to deserving women who balance entrepreneurship and motherhood to contribute to sustainable development.

Another initiative is the partnership with the 360 Complete Woman Beauty Contest to help women attain a sense of self-worth and purpose, and become the best versions of themselves through self-awareness.

Mouka equally partners the non-governmental Gnosis Help Initiative to provide succor to victims of domestic violence and abuse by improving the living condition of the displaced women being sheltered by the NGO.

Grateful for the honour, the Senior Brand and Innovation Manager, Yemisi Obadina, said “Mouka sees women as a key pillar of support in every home and society as a whole.

“We believe in an inclusive society where women are empowered to contribute their quota to the economy in line with the 10th SDG of reduced inequalities. We are grateful to be recognised by WIMCA for our efforts in adding comfort to the lives of Nigerian women.”
