The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has called on the 87 Regular Recruit Intake (87RRI) soldiers from Zamfara State to uphold the principles of honour and integrity as they serve in the Nigerian Army.
Dr. Matawalle, who previously served as Zamfara State governor, delivered this message on Monday during a visit by the new recruits to his Gusau residence.
Addressing the soldiers, the minister praised their dedication and urged them to embody the values of the military.
“I am proud of each of you and confident that you will serve as role models in your communities and beyond,” he said.
On their part, the recruits, who described themselves as beneficiaries of Dr. Matawalle’s leadership, expressed their appreciation to the minister for his support .
A representative for the group noted, “We are here today not only as soldiers of the Nigerian Army but as beneficiaries of your esteem office.”
Dr. Matawalle reiterated his commitment to supporting the military in safeguarding the nation and promoting peace.
