Christmas : Gov Ododo calls for unity, compassion, peace

As Christmas celebrations take place across Nigeria and the world, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has emphasized the importance of love, unity, and compassion, particularly for the less privileged.

In a Christmas message to the people of the state, Governor Ododo described the holiday as a special time that unites families and communities in the spirit of joy and compassion, reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ.

A statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, quoted the governor as saying, “This festive season is a time to celebrate love, unity, and to reflect on the eternal values of peace, hope, and selfless service that define the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

“Christmas presents an opportunity for us to rededicate ourselves to the virtues of compassion, tolerance, and kindness. It is a time to reach out to those in need, share the warmth of our hearts, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a people,” he added.

Governor Ododo encouraged citizens to embody the virtues of Jesus Christ, whose life inspires acts of kindness, generosity, and harmony. He lauded the people of Kogi State for their peaceful coexistence and resilience, urging them to nurture love and friendship within their families and communities.

Expressing confidence in the shared spirit of love and generosity during the season, the governor said this commitment would motivate his administration to strive harder for the progress and development of Kogi State.
