Over 100 traditional rulers from four local governments in Osun State, including Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo, have endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office. This show of unity was made at an end-of-year summit convened by Representative Bamidele Salam, who represents the Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal constituency in the National Assembly.
The summit, which took place in 2024, saw the traditional rulers formally endorse Governor Adeleke and commend Rep. Salam for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the development of the constituency. During the summit, Rep. Salam briefed the traditional rulers on the numerous developmental programs implemented by Governor Adeleke over the last two years.
Hon. Salam highlighted key achievements in areas such as road infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and human development, which have positively impacted the lives of the people in the state. According to Salam, these efforts reflect the Governor’s commitment to sustainable growth and his focus on uplifting the state.
Governor Adeleke’s policies have had a significant impact on the communities, and the traditional rulers believe they are essential for the continued growth of the state. The Governor is set to embark on more landmark projects in the 2025 fiscal year, which will enhance the socio-economic development of the four local governments in the constituency.
Hon. Salam promised that other special intervention projects, including rural electrification, construction of school buildings, roads rehabilitation, and various empowerment programs, will be facilitated through the 2025 Federal budget. The lawmaker also asked for continuous prayers and counsel from the traditional rulers in the years ahead.
The traditional rulers praised Governor Adeleke for his inclusive approach to governance and his respect for traditional institutions. They also commended Rep. Salam for his instrumental role in facilitating numerous developmental projects across towns and villages within the four local governments.
Hon. Salam’s open-door approach and Godliness have made him a reliable and accessible representative for the people. The traditional rulers unanimously proclaimed him as the best Representative so far since the return of democratic rule in 1999.
The summit was attended by members of the Osun State House of Assembly, including Hon Jimmy Asagade, Barrister Taofeeq Olayiwola, and Hon Rotimi Ogunrinnade, as well as other top public office holders from the Federal constituency. The State Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji YK Idowu, and the leader of the party in Ede Federal Constituency, Elder Sunday Atidade, also addressed the gathering.
The summit concluded with a renewed sense of optimism and solidarity, with all speakers voicing their unwavering support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election and Rep. Salam’s continued leadership. The traditional rulers described the summit as unprecedented, marking a significant milestone in the constituency’s history.
