The Acting Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, has commended the long-standing relationship between the NCoS and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This collaboration has ensured the continuous protection of custodial facilities nationwide, boosting the morale of personnel and promoting a safer environment.
According to a statement from CSC Afolabi Babawale, National Public Relations Officer, NSCDC, Abuja on Wednesday, during a courtesy visit to the Civil Defence National Headquarters in Abuja, Nwakuche acknowledged the remarkable achievements of the NSCDC under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi. He emphasized the importance of sustaining and improving this synergy to address the complex security challenges facing the country ¹.
The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, had earlier charged the new Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, to ensure the strict protection of all custodial facilities to prevent future attacks. This development highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and enhancing the security of custodial facilities across the country.
