Senator Sani Musa of Niger East Senatorial District has expressed his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in a tragic petroleum tanker accident in Dikko, Niger State.
The accident, which occurred over the weekend, claimed the lives of more than 80 people, with many others currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
Senator Musa prayed for the quick recovery of those injured and for Allah to grant the departed eternal rest. He emphasized the need for heightened caution and adherence to safety standards on the highways, strongly advising against reckless driving.
This tragic incident is the latest in a series of challenges facing Niger State, which has been grappling with insecurity and banditry attacks. Senator Musa has been vocal about the need for urgent action to address the security situation in the state.
The senator has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, the state governor, and security chiefs to provide a lasting solution to the menace. He has also urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide assistance to affected persons.
