The Alumni of government teachers college (GTC) Jalingo has decried low turnout of members in the just concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Jalingo.

Despite the low attendance, the association made up of old boys and girls (set of 1992) offered welfare packages to over fifteen (15) children of its deceased members during the period under review.

In his remark at the event, chairman of the Alumni of the college Alh. Musa Abubakar Suntai thanked members for supporting the officials while piloting the affairs of the association for the past years.

He disclosed that despite pockets of challenges, the association has continued to be stronger, more importantly in the area of maintaining visitation culture, organized reception for elevated members and increasing welfare/packages among several others.

Abubakar Suntai further gave assurance that the leadership of Alumni college have resolved to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the association moves to greater heights.

The Alumni boss also said plans are on top gear to provide data containing information of its members and make the constitution available for distribution.

In a goodwill message, secretary board of trustee Sabiu Agwaru urged members of the Alumni to be more committed in the association.

According to him, the 8th annual general meeting remains successful and applauded the leadership for sacrifice.

He said the Alumni which have over 100 members are committed to turn things around, urging all and sundry to be brother’s keeper.

Meanwhile, Miss Josephine Aboki who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries (children of deceased members of the Alumni) thanked the association for the gesture and prayed to God to bless the entire members.
