According to the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Grace Ike, Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection and an opportunity to renew one’s commitment to service, truth, and fairness in journalism. She emphasized the importance of this sacred month in fostering solidarity and compassion among journalists.

Comrade Ike encouraged journalists to uphold their professional responsibilities despite the numerous challenges they face. She noted that Ramadan symbolizes a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity, where individuals and communities come together to support one another and extend kindness to those in need.

During this month of fasting and prayer, the NUJ FCT Council prayed that journalists’ hearts would be filled with gratitude for the bounties they receive and the opportunities they have to serve their communities with truth and fairness.
