Group lauds Matawalle’s efforts in combating Zamfara insecurity

A Zamfara-based civic organization, the Concerned Citizens of Zamfara, has commended the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, for his role in addressing insecurity in the state.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the group’s Secretary, Kabir Lawal, emphasized Matawalle’s contributions in enhancing military operations against banditry
“Special commendation must be given to Dr. Matawalle, whose strategic guidance has been instrumental in supporting the ongoing operations,” Lawal said.

“The Minister Bello Matawalle has strengthened the military’s resolve and provided the necessary framework for success,” he added.

Under his leadership, security forces have intensified their crackdown on armed groups in Zamfara, reportedly inflicting heavy losses on bandit networks, the group said.

The statement also pointed out that despite the absence of support from Governor Dauda Lawal Dare, the military has made significant strides in improving security in the state.

Recent offensives have led to the neutralization of several high-profile bandits associated with notorious leader Bello Turji. Among those killed were Sani Mai Nasara, Sani Black, Kachalla Auta, Kabiru Jan Geru, and Audu Gajere.

The group acknowledged the dedication of security personnel, describing their efforts as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to restoring peace.
“This success demonstrates that with proper planning, determination, and strategic action, the battle against insecurity can be won,” the statement added.
