Senators Akpabio, Kalu mourn Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, have paid tribute to the late Afenifere Leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, who passed away on Friday at the age of 96.

Akpabio described Pa Adebanjo’s demise as the end of an era, expressing profound sadness and praising his dedication to fighting for truth, equity, and justice. He acknowledged Pa Adebanjo’s legacy, which has inspired generations, and his unwavering commitment to justice and equity, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history.

Senator Kalu also mourned the loss, highlighting Pa Adebanjo’s remarkable life and contributions to Nigeria’s socio-political development. Kalu, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on South-East Development Commission, praised Pa Adebanjo’s fearlessness in standing for truth and fairness.

The senators extended their condolences to Pa Adebanjo’s family, the Afenifere family, and the government and people of Ogun State. Tributes have also poured in from other leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, who has previously mourned the loss of other prominent Nigerians.
