Northern forums laud Matawalle’s contributions to national defence strengthening

The Coalition of Northern Forums (CNF) has applauded Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, for his efforts to bolster Nigeria’s defence capabilities.

In a statement released on Monday, CNF spokesperson Barr. Auwalu Baba Suleiman emphasized Matawalle’s dedication to enhancing the nation’s security framework, crediting his policies with making the military more resilient and efficient.

The coalition acknowledged his influence in securing advanced weaponry, upgrading military infrastructure, and driving strategic reforms aimed at reinforcing national security.
“The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring that Nigeria’s armed forces are well-equipped and capable of addressing contemporary security challenges,” the statement read.
“His efforts in modernizing military operations and procuring advanced equipment have significantly improved the efficiency of security personnel on the front lines.”

Recall that Nigeria continues to face persistent security threats, including terrorism, banditry, and communal conflicts, particularly in the northern regions.
The CNF highlighted how Matawalle’s initiatives have fostered better coordination among security forces and strengthened the military’s ability to tackle threats more effectively.

“We have seen increased investment in military hardware, improved training for security personnel, and better intelligence-sharing mechanisms,” said Yusuf Ibrahim, a spokesperson for the coalition.

“These measures are crucial in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality.”

Matawalle, who previously served as the governor of Zamfara State, has consistently advocated for a multifaceted approach to security, emphasizing the need for a blend of military operations and strategic policy initiatives.
