We’re not recruiting –FCC warns of activities of fraudsters

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has said that the Commission is not conducting recruitment exercise and therefore advised members of the public not to fall prey to fraudsters.


In a statement over the weekend by, Dr. Chucks Okoli, Director, Public Affairs & Communication on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the FCC, Dr Muheeba Dankaka said: “The attention of the Federal Character Commission has been drawn to a false information circulating on social media platforms that the office of the chairman of the commission has authorized certain persons as agent to embark on a certain recruitment drive on it’s behalf.


“It has also come to the notice of the commission that the purported agents has t deployed the usage of our executive chairman’s telephones numbers and the commission’s websites which it clones to give the needed authenticity to their nefarious acts.


“The Federal Character Commission wants to state here categorically that it has not mandated any individual or corporate agents to embark on any recruitment exercise on its behalf. The general public is hereby also reminded that the commission is not an employment agency and the vacancies if any that exists in the commission has never been on sale.


“The agency is an institution created by law and the sales of appointment have never been part of the enabling laws guiding the operation of the agency”, the statement said.


Dr Okoli further said that “The commission therefore states categorically that it is disclaiming this purported ongoing recruitment as false, fraudulent oriented, non-existent and criminal in intent.


“The operators of this false recruitment drives are doing this only as a self-serving venture to hoodwink and thereby dupe the unsuspecting general public of their hard earned resources for which this commission cannot be held liable to those patronising it.


“The general public is therefore warned to be wary of this antics of this fraudsters and have nothing to do with it. We as a commission are mandated by law to advertise our recruitments drive to the general public when it is time to embark on such exercise.


“Finally, we enjoined the general public to take advantage of the open door policy of our chairperson, Dr Muheeba Dankaka, by confirming from her office any information they needed about the commission or report the existence of such fraudulent rent seeking individual to the nearest police station”, the Commission added.
