Breaking: Uba Sani’s Interfaith Stride – Church Feeds Kaduna Muslim Schools for Ramadan

…As Female Muslim Philanthropist Targets Xtians

In a remarkable act of interfaith solidarity, the Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intercessory Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, has distributed food supplies to underprivileged Muslims and Islamic schools ahead of Ramadan. The gesture aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s vision of fostering religious harmony and social cohesion in the state.

Led by Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, the church provided maize, millet, prayer mats, and plastic kettles, benefiting Almajiri children, beggars, and persons with disabilities at the Kano Road Central Mosque. The move is in ensuring that fasting Muslims—especially those struggling with economic hardship—have enough to sustain them through the holy month.

Pastor Buru emphasized that the initiative strengthens peaceful coexistence amid Nigeria’s economic challenges. He also acknowledged Muslim philanthropist Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, who reciprocates by assisting the church’s widows and orphans during Christian celebrations.

Beyond food aid, the church has helped free Muslim prisoners jailed for minor offenses, enabling them to spend Ramadan with their families.

This year, Pastor Buru mobilized 30 pastors and imams for a campaign urging traders to keep food prices stable during Ramadan.

Grateful beneficiaries, including leaders of persons with disabilities and Tsangaya Islamic schools, praised the church’s consistent support, highlighting the growing spirit of interfaith unity in Kaduna.

The development is coming less than a week after the governor championed the need to show compassion to the needy, in his Ramadan message to Nigerians.

As Ramadan begins, this act of kindness stands as a testament to the power of religious harmony—one of the key pillars of Uba Sani’s governance approach.
