The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has lauded the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its outstanding achievements in ensuring a crime-free mining environment. The lawmakers expressed their delight in the operational plan of the NSCDC Mining Marshals, which has been instrumental in combating economic saboteurs within the mining sector.

Abuja, the Committee praised the Mining Marshals’ efforts, stating that they are impressed with the corps’ relentless onslaught against thieves and infiltrators. “We are impressed with the Mining Marshals’ effort to salvage the nation from the hands of thieves and infiltrators,” they said.
The Committee also commended the leadership of the NSCDC, particularly the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR. Dr. Audi has been at the helm of the NSCDC since 2021 and has overseen significant reforms and operational successes within the corps.
As a token of their appreciation, the House Committee requested the Mining Marshals to provide an activity schedule of their operations within four weeks. This request aims to ensure continued transparency and accountability in the corps’ operations.
Representing the NSCDC Commandant General, ACC John Onoja Attah made the presentation, assuring the committee of a thorough judicial process. He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to diligently and justly prosecuting every case following a thorough investigation.
ACC Attah highlighted the Corps’ reinvigoration and repositioning under the Audi-led administration to prosecute its statutory mandates with due diligence and loyalty. He emphasized the Corps’ commitment to ensuring sanctity within the Mining industry, stating that no challenges could outweigh this commitment.
