The Ministry of Interior has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering partnerships and collaborations to deliver on President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, according to a press statement from Dr Ozoya Imohimi on Monday.
During a courtesy visit by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Mrs. Folashade Joseph, Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in achieving shared goals and driving national development.
The Minister outlined plans to achieve near-food sufficiency in correctional centers by 2027 through mechanized farming, reducing food procurement costs, and fostering a government-to-government partnership with NAIC.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo assured Mrs. Joseph that her proposals would receive the Ministry’s full attention, marking another step forward in the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance internal security, ensure food security, and promote economic resilience in Nigeria.
Mrs. Joseph commended the Minister for his transformative leadership and proposed areas of renewed partnership, including insurance for correctional service farms and equipment, guard dogs, motor vehicles, and staff accident coverage.
This collaboration is part of the Ministry’s efforts to leverage technology and partnerships to enhance security and operational efficiency. The Ministry has also launched a five-year strategic plan to improve its services and has held performance contracting retreats to align its agencies with critical national security objectives.
The Ministry of Interior remains committed to fostering strategic collaborations that drive national development and enhance internal security.
